Millis Garden Club holds children’s Paint-A-Pot
In late June, to close out the year on a fun note, Millis Garden Club members sponsored a Paint-a-Pot/Plant-a-Seed activity at the Millis Public Library for 20 children 3 to 10 years old with Miss Rachel, the Children’s Librarian.
Members brought along samples of painted pots, one with a seedling marigold not far from budding, so the children could see the end result of their efforts.
Delightedly, children lined up for their paints and practiced their budding artistic skills on terra cotta pots with family members cheering them on. When finished, they filled the pots with potting soil, moistened it and then planted marigold seeds for their own little home garden. Maybe by now they are sprouting!
