Rector named new Millis athletic director

In July, Millis Public Schools announced the appointment of Michael Rector as athletic director of Millis Middle-High School for the upcoming school year. Rector will oversee the district’s athletic programs, working closely with coaches, student-athletes, families, and the broader Millis community to build on the school’s tradition of competitive and academic success.

In his new role, Rector will be responsible for the administration and growth of Millis’ athletic offerings, including scheduling, compliance, coach and staff supervision, and the overall student-athlete experience across all levels of competition.

“I am honored and excited to be selected as the new Athletic Director at Millis Middle-High School,” said Rector. “Millis has a proud tradition of athletic excellence, and I look forward to building on that foundation while creating relationships with our student athletes, coaches, families, and community. High school athletics provide valuable opportunities to develop leadership, resilience, teamwork, and character while teaching lessons that extend far beyond the playing field. Competing at a high level is also an important part of the student athlete experience, and I am committed to supporting our programs as we continue to foster a culture that values hard work, commitment, and continuous improvement in athletics and education. I appreciate the opportunity to serve the Millis community and look forward to the future of our athletic programs.”

Rector comes to Millis from Westwood High School where he served as Assistant Athletic Director. Prior to that, he was Athletic Director at New Heights Charter School in Brockton.
