At its June 9 meeting, the Planning and Economic Development Board unanimously adopted the 2025 Design Review Guidelines prepared by Dodson & Flinker, Inc., a landscape architecture and planning firm in Northampton.

Board member Janine Clifford, who served on the Design Review Committee before joining the Planning and Economic Development Board, said these guidelines have been in the process "for years" and will be helpful for all parties involved.

Clifford said, "Coming from my side of things where I'm a practicing architect and sometimes I'm on that side of the table at other towns at Planning Board meetings, it's really helpful to have those guidelines ahead of time and be able to look at a town and know what they really want and that's what we really strived for in these guidelines is to try to come up with examples of vernacular around town that is conducive to what Medway wants to look like and what has looked like historically."
