The Town of Medway is warning applicants to town boards and commissions that they are being targeted by scammers posing as town staff.

The warning, issued on the town's website, says fraudulent emails are being sent that include town branding, reference projects, and request wire transfers or electronic payments. The public is advised not to respond to the email, click on any link, or send money.

It was noted that the town only accepts checks payable to the Town of Medway and no wire transfers or electronic payments are ever requested.

All official emails from the town will end in @medwayma.gov.
