Millis Town Clerk reported that 19.63% (1,418) of the town’s 7,223 registered voters cast a ballot in this year’s annual election held on May 11.

The only contested race on the ballot was for one seat on the Millis Select Board. Candidates included incumbent Erin T. Underhill and James F. McKay, retired director of the Millis Department of Public Works. The final tally was: 

James F. McKay with 840 votes (59.24%) and Erin T. Underhill with 570 votes (40.20%). There were also three write-ins and five blanks. The final results can be found at millisma.gov. 

McKay is a retired director of the Millis Department of Public Works and has held various seats on town boards. During his campaign, his primary focus was fiscal responsibility. 

After the election, McKay told Medway & Millis News, “I would like to thank the Millis residents for electing me to the Millis Select Board. I am looking forward to my role and representing the Millis Community.”
