Sean Meehan of Millis will be running the 130th Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America in support of The Home for Little Wanderers. The Home is proud to be a part of The Bank of America Boston Marathon Charity Program. The 28-year-old Meehan has dreamed of running since he watched his sister complete the race three years ago.

 “Growing up in Greater Boston, the Boston Marathon has always been more than just a race to me—it’s a symbol of our community’s spirit, resilience and heart,” said Meehan. “I still remember standing along the course in 2023, watching my sister run. Seeing her cross that finish line on Boylston Street—surrounded by cheering crowds and unwavering support—lit a spark in me.”

 By raising money for The Home for Little Wanderers as part of the agency’s official marathon team, Meehan will support over 30 life-changing programs that help children and their families build permanent and positive change. The Home’s team of dedicated professionals ensure the emotional, social, educational and physical well-being of children from birth to age 26 through a wide range of critical, innovative services. As a result, kids who have experienced trauma, violence, shattered family lives and other hardships gain stability and support, loving relationships and a secure path toward tomorrow.

 “Every step I take on Marathon Monday will be for them—for the kids who’ve faced unimaginable challenges, and for the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to ensure no child has to go through life alone,” Meehan said.

Part of Meehan’s fundraising efforts include proceeds from “Santa Land” in Mendon. “Santa Land” is a reimaging of Meehan’s family “Millis Wonderland” Christmas lights display.
