Zachary DiGregorio, 24, of Medway, together with his luge partner Sean Hollander, 26, of Lake Placid, NY, finished 8th in the Luge Men’s Doubles at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina on Feb. 11, Hollander’s birthday.

Every doubles sled completes two official runs in Olympic competition, and the total combined time determines final placings. DiGregorio and Hollander’s combined time was 1:45.467.

On Feb. 14, DiGregorio posted on his Instagram account @zdigregorio, “The Olympics are the peak of winter sport, something you chase four years out. Every morning you wake up with a fire inside pushing you to work harder, train harder, and refuse to give up on the dream.

“8th place wasn’t the result we came for, but I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a single thing about how we prepared. Every high, every low, every sacrifice led us here.

“Proud of the fight, grateful for the journey. Forever thankful of the people who got us here. @seanhollander and I have been through every emotion together, our families and friends who have supported us, and our coaches and staff who always believe in us and make us believe it too.”

The Town of Medway held several watch parties to cheer for their team.

The pair previously competed in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
