If you haven’t seen the birdhouses hanging in the gardens at the Millis Memorial Building gardens, you are in for a treat! Take a walk, view the four gardens surrounding the building and see what you have been missing. The Millis Garden Club extends its thanks to the Crafty Ladies of the Millis Senior Center for their bright and cheerful contributions to the beauty of the gardens.

In addition, the Millis Garden Club is grateful to the members of the Department of Public Works for their assistance in the restoration of the Staff Sgt Harold Hall Memorial Square at Towles Corner. New plantings in the garden are continuing with donations from several generous residents.

In addition to the Memorial Building gardens and Towles Corner, there are four more gardens and 12 individual planters the Garden Club members care for and the club is seeking enthusiastic gardeners to adopt a planter or help plant, weed or water a garden. Beginners welcome!

If you are interested, please attend the Fall meeting on Tues., Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in the Roche Room at the Millis Public Library.

Aside from care of the gardens, the Photography Exhibition celebrating Millis garden life  planned for the winter in the library’s Roche Room will be discussed. We welcome all residents to save your favorite photos of scenes from your garden and submit them framed to the Circulation desk of the Millis Public Library to be displayed in the exhibit.
