Celebrate Medway to be held July 15

Day to include kids’ activities, watermelon-eating contest, fireworks and more

Celebrate Medway will be held on Saturday, July 15, from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Choate Park and the Thayer Homestead. The annual “Give back to the Town” event will be a day full of activities for the young and old alike. This year’s popular activities include a remote-control racetrack, a climbing wall, multiple bouncy houses, and boating on the pond (boats supplied).

Kids will enjoy various games and activities throughout the day, such as face painting, crafts, a magician, and balloon animals. The Medway Fire Department will be on hand with some fun firefighter foam.

Medway Café will host a beer garden on the Thayer House lawn where you can sip your favorite beverage while listening to the sounds of the Lake Shore Drive Band during the afternoon, followed by the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra at 7 p.m. Bring a chair and/or a blanket to enjoy the fireworks display at dusk that is sure to light up the night sky.

Like in years past, the community event will feature old-fashioned prices on refreshments, and there will even be a watermelon-eating contest at 4:00 pm.

The event will take place rain or shine.
