Millis has a ‘Picture-Perfect’ prom

On May 12, Millis High School students took part in a tradition they’d been planning for months: the junior and senior prom. At 6 p.m., these upperclassmen arrived at Coachmen’s Lodge in Bellingham; however, prom night officially started an hour beforehand at MHS where, for years now, students have been meeting before the dance to take photos with family and friends.

From the dancing to the location, this year’s prom was truly one to remember.

Lindsay Suereth, a senior at MHS, said she “loved the venue, the outdoor space was beautiful.” Many other students agreed with Suereth especially because of the pleasant greenery that overlooks a pond. All of the prom attendees, myself included, appreciated all the picture-perfect views that were ideal for photos.

Stephen Bigelow and Michael Carter (MHS junior advisors) along with the rest of the junior class, helped organize the prom. When asked his opinion on this year’s prom, Carter said he thought it was a great event. “All the students seemed to have fun and the venue even mentioned how much they loved having Millis so we all must have done something right. It was nice to see everyone let loose and enjoy themselves, that’s what prom is supposed to be about.” Bigelow added, “This year’s prom was a huge success! The students all had a blast and represented Millis in such a positive light. It was an all-around great night for Millis.”

As a senior, this prom was a great way to end my high school career. The night began with a fun atmosphere that carried out into the rest of the evening. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s prom a great one!
