Medway Memorial Day Parade will be May 29

The Medway Memorial Committee is preparing for the 2023 Memorial Day parade and ceremonies to be held at Matondi Square on May 29.
This year they will be honoring John Larney, posthumously. John was a US Navy, Vietnam Veteran, an active Medway Post 1526 VFW member, served as its Quartermaster for a number of years, and most recently served as the Massachusetts VFW Quartermaster. He was quite active in his community, especially with the Boy Scouts, serving actively with the Old Colony Council of Boy Scouts of America headquartered in Stoughton. John was a member of the Medway Memorial Committee since its inception many years ago. 
The Memorial Day parade will leave from the Medway VFW on May 29 at 10 a.m. promptly and proceed to Matondi Square for ceremonies honoring John and the men and women who so valiantly gave the ultimate in service to our nation.
The parade will consist of the Worcester Kiltie Band and the Medway High School band along with color guard from the police department, fire department. and the VFW. In addition, community organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Lions Club, etc. are invited to march in the parade. 
Mustering will take place at the VFW with all participants asked to be organized and ready to step off at 9:45 a.m. 
Service members are encouraged to participate in the parade; a float and vehicles will be provided for those who do not wish to march.
The throwing of candy, etc. is not allowed.
