Medway High School Principal John Murray and Medway Middle School Principal Amanda Luizzi are pleased to share that five students from the middle and high schools have been accepted into the Central District Junior Festival.

The selected students will participate in the annual Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) Central District Junior Festival, along with students from dozens of other schools in Central Massachusetts.

As part of the audition process for the Festival, students prepared a solo to submit virtually as a showcase of their abilities.

Five students were selected from Medway for the band, chorus and jazz band. They include:

Victor Chaudoir: ninth grade, jazz drums

Megan Calnan: seventh grade, chorus

Amelia Dahlheimer: eighth grade, chorus

Allyson Fagan: eighth grade, chorus

Charlotte George: eighth grade, trumpet

“The music departments at the middle and high schools are very proud of our student musicians for their acceptance into the Central District Junior Festival this season,” said Medway Middle School Band Director Erin Cronan. “The Festival is an excellent learning experience for our young musicians, and this is a wonderful achievement for this group of students.”

There will be no live performance for the Junior Festival this year. Students will rehearse virtually on April 11 before Concert Band, Orchestra and Jazz Band will perform virtually on April 27, and Chorus will perform virtually on May 4.
