Between Sept. 15 and Oct. 15 (press time), the Medway Police Department responded to hundreds of calls, many related to erratic/suspicious/disabled motor vehicles, motor vehicle violations, general traffic enforcement, fire alarms (including several faulty smoke detectors), 911 hang ups, lockouts, radar requests, serving warrants, and providing mutual aid to other towns.
Other entries of note include:
Sept. 15 at 2:45pm, Walker St., animal control call, advised. Caller reported coyote sitting at end of street towards Franklin.
Sept. 15 at 5:47pm, Main St., disturbance, report. Employee said customer is refusing to leave drive-thru because their prescription is not ready yet
Sept. 15 at 6:49pm, Mechanic St., animal control call, logged. Caller said somebody abandoned their pet bunny and it is now in her backyard.
Sept. 15, Holliston St., disturbance, report. Caller said two patients got into a physical fight.
Sept. 16 at 2:42am, Main St., suspicious person, logged. Police checked on three juveniles in the area. Parties said they were on their way home and police escorted them to a residence.
Sept. 16 at 3:45pm, Barber St., vehicle fire, responded. Caller reported his car was on fire. Police and fire responded.
Sept. 16 at 8:37pm, Meryl St., fire/natural gas leak, investigation. Caller reported a smell of gas within the house; police and fire responded. The problem was coming from the oven.
Sept. 17 at 2:40am, Azalea Dr., suspicious person, transport. Caller reported an elderly man on the back porch who appeared confused and had a wound on his head.
Sept. 18 at 12:39pm, Charles River Rd., motor vehicle erratic operation, advised. Caller reported a party riding an ATV up and down the street for the past 20 minutes. Police advised the operator about the rules and regulations and advised him to stay off the main road.
Sept. 18 at 6:50pm, Birch Bark Rd., tree down, removed.
Sept. 19 at 3:33pm, Maple St., accident other, logged. Caller reported a vehicle struck a rock on their property and is now stuck.
Sept. 19 at 3:41pm, Summer St., motor vehicle accident with injury, transport.
Sept. 21 at 7:22am, Holliston St., trash can fire, police and fire responded.
Sept. 21 at 11:48am, West St., erratic motor vehicle operation, gone on arrival. Caller reported a vehicle “swerving and almost crashed multiple times.”
Sept. 21 at 2:50pm, Summer St., disabled motor vehicle, assisted party. Caller reported an 18-wheeler broken down in the southbound lane of Summer St.
Sept. 22 at 3:14pm, Willow Pond Cir., motor vehicle accident with injury, arrest. Police received a 911 call from an automated crash response stating the owner of the phone was involved in a crash and was not responding to their phone. Police and Fire responded.
Sept. 27 at 11:28am, Cutler St., fire, police and fire responded. Caller reported their dryer was smoking.
Sept, 27 at 6:00pm, Summer St., motor vehicle accident with injury, transported. Multiple 911 callers reported a two-car accident, and “one juvenile female struck by a car.” Police and fire responded; Millis and Bellingham also responded. Patients were transferred to Milford, Boston (MedFlight) and Worcester (MedFlight).
Sept. 29 at 9:07am, Pond St., animal control, logged. Caller reported an injured owl in the yard.
Sept. 29 at 5:12pm, Main St., identity fraud, report.
Oct. 1 at 3:57pm, unwanted party, report. Police kept the peace.
Oct. 1 at 9:09pm, Holliston St., safety hazard, logged. Caller reported 10-12 juveniles walking in the roadway; gone on arrival.
Oct. 2 at 2:20am, Sanford St., fire alarm, logged. Police and fire responded. Units also responded from Millis, Franklin, and Norfolk. Bellingham provided station coverage. Asked management company to contact its alarm company to replace attic detector.
Oct. 2 at 6:06pm, Milliston Rd Millis, assist other police department. Medway assisted Millis in a search for a missing person; party was located.
Oct. 4 at 10:36pm, Milford St., arrest. Person arrested for operating under the influence.
Oct. 5 at 12:08pm, vandalism, report. Caller reported graffiti in the area.
Oct. 5 at 6:36pm, Summer St., break and enter, investigation. Caller reported their shed was broken into.
Oct. 8 at 9:44am, Village St., assault, report. 911 caller reported a road rage incident and was assaulted by the other driver.
Oct. 13 at 4:05pm, Barber St., threatening, report.
Oct. 14 at 12:19pm, Priscilla Rd., fire-investigation, logged. Police investigated possible illegal burn; resident was advised and fire was put out.
