Millis/Medway - Local Town Pages

Have you been by the Medway Community Farm Lately?

As Summer turns to Fall and the leaves start to change, stop by the MCF to see some great changes and join in on our upcoming events!

MCF recently received a grant from the Energy Offices of Executive Affairs for a brand new cooler.  Their 10 year old cooler has served the farm well but is limping along on its last legs. The cooler will be larger and more energy efficient and will help store more food and keep it fresh.  In that same area, Kevin Maley is close to completing his Eagle Scout project to overhaul the wash station area.  That, combined with the new cooler, will greatly improve the operations of the farm.

On October 21 from 7:00 to 10:00, MCF will hold a fundraising event – Autumn Night Out, a farm to fork experience. The event will feature a delectable assortment of appetizers prepared by local Medway caterers, Aliquot’s. In addition to great food and friends, there will be live music by the Hip Swayers.  They will have wine, beer, and cider and will introduce two signature cocktails sponsored by Spicy Water Distillery in Millbury.  MCF will also have door prizes and a silent auction to help raise funds for the Farm. By attending Autumn Night Out, you’re not only treating your taste buds but also supporting your local farming community. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening of farm-fresh culinary delights. Tickets are available for $50 with advance purchase or $60 at the door - limited spaces available.

The farm is open to the public from dawn to dusk, the farmstand is open Thursday - Sunday. Thanksgiving boxes are available for your holiday planning.  Check out www.medwaycommunityfarm.org to learn more about upcoming events and changes. The farm staff invites you to stop in and take a look!
